SimBoostr was developed to provide an authentic competitive experience for e-sports racers and virtual track enthusiasts. Recognizing that professional coaching is often too expensive for beginners, the team created "Alfie," a virtual race engineer. The platform automates the data collection process and provides personalized instructions to help users understand their mistakes and improve their lap times.
The primary problem identified was that racers often repeat the same mistakes and "drown in data" without understanding why they are slower than their rivals. Developing a solution required bridging the gap between complex racing telemetry and accessible, actionable insights. On the business side, the team had to maintain founder alignment during the fragile early stages and remain laser-focused on product development while navigating multiple incubator programs.
The development followed a customer-centric and data-driven methodology:
By early 2024, the platform had secured over 4,000 registered users and expanded its game support to titles like F1, iRacing, and Assetto Corsa. The team successfully exhibited at Europe’s largest sim racing expo (SRE), leading to joint-venture plans with a German firm. Although personal goal shifts among the founders eventually led to a strategic closure, the journey provided first-hand expertise in validating ideas and building scalable AI products.
